I realized quite recently that 2015 marks my 10th year of business. I thought it would be cool to count how many invitations I've designed or count how many Swarovski crystals I've glued. I thought about charting all the different color combos my clients have had over the years and rank the five most popular wedding palettes.
While figuring out all those stats would be cool, I realized that there was only one stat that really mattered to me, and it's this. In 10 years, my job satisfaction has been 100% every single day. Just as I did on day one of Emi Ink, I got up this morning with an eagerness to go to work. I love my clients. I love making pretty things for my clients. Simply put, I love that I can make my clients happy by making pretty things. That should literally be my mission statement in the coming years.
That's not to say that I don't have bad days, bad weeks even. But for every challenge, there's a lesson. How can I be better? How can I be more efficient? How can I master that balance so I can be the best in my home life and my work life? It's a continuous journey and I'm sitting in gratitude that this is MY journey.
P.S. For what it's worth, I haven't been too busy to blog, I've just experienced the world's worst writer's block. And I WILL make a solid effort to blog more often. So there you have it!
